Opponents of the development of a cold storage facility and wharf in Long Pond Harbour, Conception Bay South, have had their day in court and lost.
Sunset Key Marina and the Advocates for the Responsible Development of Long Pond Harbour were unhappy with a decision last October by the Eastern Region Appeal Board to dismiss the groups’ appeal of a town council decision to allow infilling of a section of the harbour for construction of a cold storage facility and finger pier.
Last June, the Town of Conception Bay South gave its blessing to the application from Omni Marine Services (a subsidiary of Ocean Choice International) for the project.
The advocates group took the matter to the appeal board.
